Naomi started her journey with Small Sums in November 2019 after a career managing Public Health projects with underserved communities both stateside and abroad. Naomi is passionate about Small Sums's mission and how such a simple solution can have such lasting impact on our homeless population.
Naomi is on a continuous path of growth as she improves her skills in management, fundraising, knitting, and fishing. Originally from Alaska, Naomi loves the outdoors and all the beauty Minnesota has to offer. Naomi currently resides in Minneapolis, is excited for the future of Small Sums, and is so grateful for all the support Small Sums receives in our corner of the world.
Sierra learned about Small Sums when she volunteered to be the photographer for a luncheon back in 2017. She fell in love with the mission and soon found herself working very part-time doing development projects and outreach. Fast forward a few years and now she oversees the program side, working with clients, referring partners, and making sure we always have pants, shoes, t-shirts and bus passes in stock. Her favorite part about working for Small Sums is getting to hear clients share about their journeys, taking their photos and getting to connect with other agencies that contribute to the holistic care of the Twin Cities' homeless community.
Sierra is raising three amazing boys with her husband here in the Midway neighborhood. Her family is dedicated to this community where their schools, church, jobs, and favorite coffee shops are located within a mile. In her free time she enjoys photography, writing, spending time with family and taking care of her plants.
Terre has been a part of Small Sums since 2012. First as the Client Services Coordinator, then Executive Director, and with semi-retirement at the end of 2019, she continues part-time with her favorite work of fundraising and helping with special projects. She loves Small Sums, its staff, clients, board, and mission.Contact ME
Kate didn't plan on using her history degrees to wrangle data. Her degrees from Luther College and University of St. Thomas were geared towards museum studies. But, after two decades of nonprofit and museum experience, she had a realization: cataloging, filing systems, and creating data sets were oddly satisfying (while also fulfilling her introverted desire to stay behind the scenes). Small Sums gives Kate the opportunity to use her skill set to support a program making a real difference in people's lives. While she doesn't work directly with clients, her work is driven by supporting their needs. When she's not wrangling data, Kate is busy wrangling her kids, resident pets, and foster dogs. Her perfect day is yoga and coffee with her husband, an afternoon at the pool with her kids, followed by a delicious dinner she did not cook.Contact ME
Eurell has worked most of his life in retail, restaurants or with kids in local community programs. He joined the Small Sums client services team in 2019 and is the first warm and welcoming smile our clients encounter as they arrive. He loves working with people and acts as our on-site tailor, putting his experience at a formal wear shop to good use when he gets the chance to hem pants, ensuring each client has a perfect fit. He is from Chicago and grew up in a big family who loves celebrating holidays, birthdays and important milestones together. He enjoys all types of music, cooking, binge watching Netflix shows and spending time with his friends.Contact ME
Jennifer enjoys working with our development team to raise funds to support the mission of Small Sums. Using creativity and project management she works collaboratively with the team to create successful appeals and compelling grants. Small Sums' amazing and resilient clients continue to motivate Jennifer to innovate our fundraising to sustain and grow our programs. Outside of work, Jennifer stays busy raising three amazing Rebel Girls, beating her husband at cribbage, and growing, cooking and eating delicious food. She looks forward to the return of live music and social gatherings as we strive towards a new normal.Contact ME
Christine hails from New Jersey and had only travelled west of Pennsylvania once before her move to the Twin Cities last August. She is one of three siblings (shoutout to her fellow youngest sibs) and is an avid tea drinker, nonfiction reader and outdoor hiker. She studied philosophy and psychology at College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA and graduated in May of 2020 (the Covid class!). She's loved working at Small Sums so far, especially getting to connect with our motivated and inspiring clients and working with our dynamic and dazzling Client Services team. Although she's sad to see her year with Small Sums is already halfway done, she hopes to continue learning from her clients and coworkers and exploring everything Minnesota has to offer!Contact ME
