Small Sums condemns the ongoing violence caused by ICE operations in our Twin Cities neighborhoods. Immigration officials have been targeting housing shelters and other community-serving organizations, stoking fear and creating legitimate safety concerns for our most vulnerable dear neighbors. Many of these intimidating actions are taking place without valid legal justification.

All members of our community deserve safety, trust, belonging, and a bright future. Healthy and safe communities are those that remain open, generous, and welcoming, working together toward justice rooted in love.

As an organization committed to providing dignified steps toward stability for individuals who are unhoused, Small Sums must speak out when the humanity, dignity, and stability of our communities are under siege. All people deserve peace, justice, and accountable systems. We stand in unquestioned solidarity with workers in our Twin Cities communities, especially those with family roots in Somalia, East Africa, Central America, and Asia who are being targeted in this unprecedented and unnecessary federal surge. We remain fully committed to building a world where everyone has equal opportunity for economic and housing stability that leads to transformed communities.
